The Campaign
Save Patagonia is a campaign promoted by the Alliance for the Defense of Protected Areas, which seeks to remove salmon farming concessions from inside national parks and national reserves, without relocation.
Chile requires concrete guarantees for the effective protection of protected areas, which means respecting the Washington Convention ratified by Chile in 1967, an agreement that promotes the protection of flora, fauna, and natural scenic beauties of the Americas.
Additionally, the campaign demands that the salmon industry comply with the General Environmental Framework Law and the Fisheries and Aquaculture Law, which set boundaries for environmental and productive actions.
Protected areas were created to be protected.
